2026 Styrian Team Championships \u2013 Strong showing by GC Schloss Pichlarn in Murst\u00e4tten<\/strong>

At the 2026 Styrian Team Championships at GC Murst\u00e4tten, our team put in a strong performance and narrowly missed promotion.<\/p>\n

  1. Match Day \u2013 Season Opener Against GC Schloss Frauenthal<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    To kick things off, the team faced GC Schloss Frauenthal. With wins by Julian Marchel (6 & 4) and Arthur K\u00f6hler (1 up), as well as a tie by Moritz Veigl (AS), the team secured a 2.5\u20132.5 draw. <\/p>\n

    1. Match Day \u2013 Bye<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      On the second day of competition, GC Schloss Pichlarn had a bye and was able to watch the competition and conserve energy for the decisive match.<\/p>\n

      1. Match Day \u2013 Thrilling Showdown Against GC Thalersee<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        In their final group match against GC Thalersee, the team once again showed great fighting spirit. Julian Marchel remained undefeated in his second match as well. Arthur K\u00f6hler earned a strong draw against an opponent with a negative handicap (A.S.). The highlight came from Matthias Jansenberger, who won his match with a sensational putt on the 18th green, securing the 2.5\u20132.5 tie. <\/p>\n

        At the end of the group stage, all three teams had two points each. However, due to the tiebreaker based on match points in head-to-head matches, GCC Schloss Pichlarn had to settle for third place. As a result, they narrowly missed promotion\u2014in the end, they were just a few match points short of a minor upset. <\/p>\n

        Despite the unfortunate outcome, the team can be proud of its performance. With great dedication, team spirit, and strong individual performances, GCC Schloss Pichlarn proved to be a worthy opponent and made an excellent impression. <\/p>\n
